WKA South Carolina Divisional Dirt Series Season Rapidly Approaching

The WKA South Carolina Divisional Dirt Series will kick off its 2011 season on February 26th at the Iron City Motorsports Park in Blacksburg, SC. Iron City is the first of six races on the 2011 schedule. The series, in its third year under promoter Jayson Brown, will be both a Maxxis National transfer and a WKA Daytona Dirt World Championships transfer series. Meaning the top ten in all class points will receive an invitation to the 2011 Maxxis Nationals, and the class champions will have a guaranteed starting position in 2012 at the WKA Daytona Dirt Championships.

Sure to attract many new faces in 2011, WKA SC Divisional Dirt Series will utilize a Maxxis only tire rule. Any compound Maxxis tire will be allowed to compete. “I think this will really help our racers out. Going to a tire rule in all classes will help keep the cost down for our racers. Everyone knows money is tight. So with $40 entry fees and a tire rule, I think it will really help out and make our series very lucrative in 2011 for a lot of teams. Plus, you get a transfer to the Maxxis National and Daytona. Who wouldn’t want that chance?” commented series director Jayson Brown.

LJ Dezigns will once again hold the title sponsorship for the season’s opening event. “Lee was a huge supporter last year, and he sponsored last year’s first race at Cross Anchor and he has been nice enough to remain onboard this year too. Lee and the staff at LJ Dezigns do awesome work. We are proud to have them as part of our series,” stated Brown.

Iron City, the venue that provided a superb racing surface for the season finale in 2010, will play host to the 2011 season opener. The Jason Owens promoted facility sits just off Interstate 85 in Blacksburg, SC. “It’s a perfect location for the first race. It’s right off the interstate and on the state line. You’d be surprised at how many North Carolina guys run our series. Hopefully we will draw a few more of them this year too. The interest in our series is phenomenal this year,” stated Brown.
